Unfortunately long serving member Mary Inman wasn’t able to make it to the lunch to receive a very nice floral arrangement in recognition of her contribution over the years but especially in volunteering to act as interim secretary and treasurer.
This was necessary as at the AGM in May this year there were no nominations for either of those roles. Since then Mary has been assisting while permanent replacements were found.
Some months ago I announced the appointment of Marilyn Dean as treasurer and now Lyn Kroes has agreed to take over as secretary.
The annual luncheon was a good opportunity to publicly thank Mary for her significant contribution to U3A Gympie and to wish her well for the future now that her interim roles conclude.
The audience joined with the president in a round of applause. Susan kindly offered to deliver the floral arrangement so that Mary can enjoy its beauty.
