Changes to Cash Payment Collection
What is changing
Cash payments will no longer be accepted by Tutors or Committee Members at class venues. Instead cash payments can be made at the new U3A office or by depositing at Bendigo Bank. (Account details at end of this post.)
Why is it changing?
For greater time efficiency and to ensure financial accountability, we are using a management system for our membership and classes. In the past, it has been difficult as well as time consuming to collect cash payments, issue receipts and process the information in a timely manner.
Receiving payments at the U3A office will allow the information to be entered into the system immediately and allow us to keep accurate records. We also want to remove the burden and responsibility of handling cash from our volunteer tutors and to reduce disruption to classes.
How do I make cash payments?
Cash payments will be accepted at the U3A Office located in the Reg English Tennis Centre, English Drive, 35 Cartwright Road. (Near Cooinda Aged Care and Gympie West State School)
This new cash payment system will start at the Sign-on for Term 3 to be held on 5th July, 11.30am – 2pm. There will be a free sausage sizzle to celebrate the opening of our new office and to kick off the new payment system.
To help members avoid an extra trip into town the office will also be open each day for the first week of Term 3. Opening times will be as follows:
Monday 10th July 10.30am – 1.00pm
Tuesday 11th July 1.00pm – 3.00pm
Wednesday 12th July 10.30am – 12.30pm
Thursday 13th July 10.30am – 1.30pm
Friday 14th July 10.30am – 1.00pm
After that, the office will be open for an hour or two 1 day a week. Times will be published at the start of Term 3. I would be very grateful to hear from volunteers prepared to work in the office.
