Every Tuesday during each term, we meet for lunch at venues that are listed in our monthly class & activity schedule. Prospective members often use this function as a chance to find out more about us.
The cost of Social Activities varies. Some are either free or at a commercial venue where you can decide how much to spend. Other Activities carry a cost which is advised well ahead of time.

Gympie is a city and a locality in the Gympie Region, Queensland, Australia. In the Wide Bay-Burnett District, Gympie is about 170.7 kilometres (110 mi) north of the state capital, Brisbane. The city lies on the Mary River, which floods Gympie occasionally. Gympie is the administrative centre for the Gympie Region area. As of June 2018 Gympie had a population of 51,578.
Gympie is famous for its gold field. It contains a number of historic buildings registered on the Queensland Heritage Register.
U3A was founded in Toulouse, France in 1972. It began as a university-based organisation, but quickly evolved into something less formal. The concept of self-help and mutual sharing was introduced and now forms the backbone of U3A groups around the world.
There are more than 3000 groups spread over all continents and there are around 300 independent U3A groups in Australia. There are about 36 U3A groups in Queensland, representing a total membership of about 24,000 people.
There are over 100,000 members throughout Australia with around 10,000 volunteer tutors.
